Hi, I'm Helen Young. After many years working in IT as a software tester, website editor, project co-ordinator and software trainer, I set up a solo cleaning business in 2020 as I needed a job that worked around school hours as my children were at primary school. 

 

Soon I was making more money cleaning than I ever had working in IT, and I absolutely loved it. Over time, I built up a huge amount of knowledge and other cleaners kept coming to me online asking how they could make more money and run their businesses with less stress.

So, in 2023, I set up Solo Cleaners Success Academy. I created courses, ebooks, a membership and a group program, all focused on helping solo cleaners make more money with stress less, and run their business on their own terms.

By early 2025, the income from my online business exceeded what I made cleaning and, no longer able to sustain both time-wise, I gave notice to my cleaning customers. This coincided with having to take my daughter out of school to home educate her. Now, I work early mornings and late evenings around my family. 

​

A lot of my income comes in without me needing to be hands-on every single day. Over the past year or so, more and more people have been asking me how I built this business, from zero to turning over more than £100,000 a year. That's what led me here.

​

I've put everything I've learned building my business from scratch into a course called Passive-ish Income. This course is for anyone who's built up knowledge and experience in what they do and wants to turn it into something that earns for them, not just when they're working, but in between everything else life involves too.
